15-17 Parc Guell Drive in Campbelltown NSW have installed solar to tackle their common area energy costs and to help reduce their carbon footprint.
Solar Choice was engaged in late 2020 to complete a business case assessment of the potential of solar at the building. Solar Choice’s engineers recommended a 15kW system to meet the daytime load of the common meter whilst maintaining an optimal return on investment.
Parc Guell Drive received indicative quotes from 5 of Solar Choice’s pre-vetted commercial solar installers and shortlisted 2 to go to site and complete a detailed site survey. The committee ultimately progressed with one of those options to go ahead and complete the installation.
The installation featured 44 x 370W Trina Solar Honey panels with a SMA inverter with a total DC capacity of 16.28kW’s. The installation required a focus on safety due to building height.
The system will create over 20,000 kWhs of energy each year and will offset over 500 tonnes of carbon emissions through the life of the project.
